Sundry Agro at Lagos Startup Expo 2.0: What We Learned & Gained

Sundry Agro at Lagos Startup Expo 2.0 was more than just a showcase.

Last week, the Sundry Agro team had the incredible opportunity to showcase our mission and connect directly with the people we serve at the Lagos Startup Expo 2.0, organized by Techpoint Africa and sponsored by innovation-driven companies like Haisic Energy Storage.

Sundry Agro at Lagos Startup Expo

Hosted in the heart of Nigeria’s startup ecosystem, this year’s event brought together hundreds of stakeholders – from tech founders to investors, farmers to fintechs – all exploring solutions to Nigeria’s most pressing challenges.

For us at Sundry Agro, it was more than just an event. It was a chance to listen, learn, and build stronger bridges between the farm and the city, between the people who grow our food and those who depend on it daily.

Sundry Agro at Lagos Startup Expo: Farmers Talk. We Listen.

One of the biggest highlights for our team was interacting face-to-face with smallholder farmers – the real heroes behind the food on our tables.

These conversations opened our eyes even more to the challenges they face:

  • Limited access to consistent buyers
  • Poor infrastructure and logistics
  • Rising costs of getting their produce into city markets
  • Lack of digital tools to scale their income

At Sundry Agro, these are exactly the pain points we’re committed to solving. By giving farmers and food processors access to a wider urban customer base through our digital marketplace, we help them sell faster, more fairly, and with less stress.

Customers Want More Than Convenience

We also met urban Lagosians – working moms, professionals, food lovers – who shared their honest struggles with food shopping.

– Market traffic.
– Inconsistent pricing.
– Poor hygiene.
– Lack of time.

Many were excited to learn how Sundry Agro lets them shop fresh, farm-quality groceries online and have it delivered within hours – prepped, packed, and clean.

“You mean I can order ogbono, blended pepper, and washed ponmo without leaving my house?”
Yes. Yes, you can.

Our platform is built for trust and ease, giving users access to personal shoppers, seamless payment, and food that looks and tastes like it came from grandma’s kitchen – minus the stress.

What This Means for Us

Being part of the Lagos Startup Expo reminded us why we do what we do.

In a country where food inflation is high, logistics are tricky, and urban life is hectic, there’s never been a more important time to reimagine food access in Nigeria.

We’re proud to be building a platform that:

  • Empowers farmers and small businesses
  • Supports women through employment as personal shoppers
  • Helps busy families eat better, cleaner, and faster
  • Builds trust in food delivery, one basket at a time

We’re grateful to the organizers and sponsors who made the Lagos Startup Expo possible. Startups like ours thrive on platforms like this, where ideas meet impact and partnerships begin.
